  • Vocal Group Announcements / Updates

  • Band Director Announcements

    • Nordonia & Norton competitions went really well, qualified for state at each. Won Best General Effect and Best Guard at Nordonia

    • Thank you to the parents who are working with props

    • Minor tweaks to program still to come before state competition

    • State competition will be November 6th with performance time around 1:30 pm

    • Winter Guard & Indoor Drumline

      • Sign-ups currently open. Also up at CMS for 8th grade students to generate interest for this winter and carry over for next school year.

      • Steve and Robby will not be available for winter drumline, looking for applicant(s) to fill this position.

      • Winter guard is looking at approx. $300 per student right now to cover costs of flags, uniforms and fuel costs. When indoor drumline hires an instructor they would have very similar costs for their season per student. Motion to subsidize each of them with $1,500 for seed money to begin season with the understanding that the kids need to help raise money as well.

    • Cavalcade of Sound

      • Waiting on a few bills to come in, including bill for Sam’s Club

      • Net profit should be between $4,000 - $5,000

      • T-shirt guy was a good find. Shirts were made to order at the event, so no surplus to deal with.

    • Auction

      • Donations coming in, still welcome more

      • Families who want to donate a basket need to contact Mrs. Icardi. More info will be going out later this week.

      • Families who want to donate money are encouraged to help sponsor meal

      • Charms will be updated soon with the jobs to be filled for that evening. Parents and student volunteers are needed before, during and after the event.

      • A listing of the items donated for the auction will be made available shortly

  • Old Business

    • Running boards for new truck received, to be installed. Cost was $430 which was slightly over the original quote. Motion to pay this amount for running boards

    • Background checks

      • It is becoming a standard practice at some schools to have volunteers who work closely with students to get a Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) and Federal Bureau of Investigation background (FBI) checks. Cloverleaf has talked about this in the past.

    • Board member removal

      • Part of by-law re-writes being done by Jen Hamey. There has sadly been a need for this in the past
