7:00pm Jeff Schreiber called the meeting to order
In attendance: Nancy Eaken, Sue Newport, Dave Robbins, Paula Lindsey, Sylvia and Dave Anderson, Kathy Kindall, Jeff and Kim Schreiber, Crystal James, Chip Jenkins, Lora and Joe Fetzer.
- Minutes of the February 9, 2009 meeting were read by Donna Ditch. Minutes accepted; Lora Fetzer 1st, Dave Robbins 2nd.
- Treasurer’s Financial Report – was read by Kathy Kindall.
- Discussion was held about paying bills for Westfield, i.e. Piano tuning at Westfield versus other expenses. What should be Westfield’s expense and what should be CMA’s expense? Have the elementary schools submit budgets for anticipated expenses for the year?
- Jeff to email the Principals to find out how these bills are paid.
- Kids need to bring in their $10 to pay for the accompaniment at OMEA.
- Candy bar sales- Needs to be better organized and tracked next year, especially repayment of sold candy.
- Joe proposed motion to empower executive committee to review the bills and recommend payment for those elementary bills that are submitted for payment. Those items that are not in the in the interest of this organization, then they shouldn’t get paid.
- No further discussion- financial report accepted; Lora Fetzer 1st, Sue Newport 2nd.
- C’s Updates – Mr. C. not present, but did report prior to the meeting that parents were needed to ride busses for 3/14 OMEA band contest. There were going to be 2 busses for the Concert band (7am), and 1 bus for the 9th grade band (9am).
- Swing Dance Committee – Lora Hudson could not do this, therefore it is being cancelled for this year. Changed to country line dancing, tentatively scheduled for 3/20/2010.
- CMA will also be sponsoring a spaghetti dinner on 3/28/2009 or 4/18/2009 at the Legions Hall in Lodi. Send flyers in bags at Miller Bros. Still need to confirm dates.
- Winter Guard –
- Excellent first season. Received five 1st place and two 2nd place finishes.
- 6 average going into last 4 weeks of season
- State championship is next competition
- Upcoming Events –
- Tuesday 3/10/2009, 7th and 8th grade concert at the Middle School
- Saturday 3/14/2009, High School Concert Band and 9th grade band contest at Copley
- Thursday 3/26/2009, Intermediate School Vocal concert at Seville Elementary
- April 6 – 13, Spring Break.
- Fundraisers –
- Malley’s Easter Candy Sale- Jeff Schreiber;
- Monday 3/16/2009- Sale ends and turn in orders.
- Tuesday 3/31/2009- Candy delivery to High School.
- Beuhlers food sales- Crystal James; 3 dates submitted.
- Rally in the Ally- Chip Jenkins; Need 35 people to do the whole thing- sell tickets, take tickets, alcohol sales.
- Great Lakes Scrip Card- Barb Vasil;
- Cancel Gift Cents and do this instead as it is a better deal then gift cents.
- No long term commitment and there is a reward on store card purchases of 8-13%
- Barb to look more into this.
- Malley’s Easter Candy Sale- Jeff Schreiber;
New Business
- Tent rentals; let Kim Schreiber know.
- Dewayne Fulton has smaller tent; need to figure out where to store it
- Suggestion was brought up to possibly use Browns Cleaning of Rittman for uniform cleaning. Decision was made, however, to stick with current cleaners.
