Meeting Minutes August 12, 2019
Attended: Mark Winrod, Paula Winrod, Andrew Winter, Joseph Fundale, Karen Gingrich, Louise Reed, DJ Kish; David Drogell, Linda Drogell, Sue Filak, Nicole Benko, Mike Perry, Missy Perry , Mark Glatzer
Meeting called to order: 1930
Meeting Minutes from July 8, 2019:
- No corrections or additions to minutes.
- Motion to approve by Karen Gingrich, second by Nicole Benko. Motion carried
Financial Report: Current balance $24, 163.81
- Does not include most recent deposits/expenses from fair
- Money has not been transferred to uniform account
- DCI tickets, apparel, equipment all paid and monies deposited
- Motion to approve report by Louise Reed, second by DJ Kish, motion carried
Music Director Report:
- Band camp going well/super smooth
- Shout out to Colts Culinary crew, DCI chaperones, Uniform moms – extending life of uniforms this season with many needed repairs
- Positive feedback from Mr. Randolph regarding DCI
- Upcoming – parent mixer at stadium preview and Cavalcade
- Discussed need for utility vehicle and trailer
- Introduced Hazel – front ensemble coach
- Band swag store set up online – 20 items available for purchase; link sent out in an email
- Possible will cancel Norton competition if do well at Cavalcade
Fundraisers:
- Discussed 2021 trip – cost for NYC would be prohibitive for most students- approx. $1300.00/student; plan to return to Florida – discussion ensued of Disney vs Universal, no decision
Old Business:
- Medina County Fair went very smoothly – many volunteers worked hard
- Cavalcade update – 11 bands so far; one more meeting of core people to finalize details
- Items needed for article in Gazette regarding Cavalcade- statements/pictures –needs finalized within next two weeks
- Plan to have a trophy in Mr. C’s honor and tribute page in program
New Business:
- An endowment fund is being set up in Mr. C’s name – will cover cost of T-shirts and other costs of parade; will now only be able to order shirts online
- Involve alumni more at other events such as homecoming, cavalcade, etc.
