Meeting Minutes July 8, 2019
Attended: Andrew Winter, Louise Reed, Mark Winrod, Paula Winrod, Karen Gingrich, Stacey Kovach, Nicole Benko, Linda Drogell, Sue Filak, DJ Kish
Meeting called to order: 1915
Meeting Minutes from June 10, 2019:
- No corrections or additions to minutes
- Motion to approve by Karen Gingrich, second by Paula Winrod. Motion carried
Financial Report: Current balance $30,070.00
- General Fund - $18,766 – does not reflect most recent deposits or bills paid
- Debit Account - $269.00
- Uniform Fund - $11,035 - does not include the 10% from the Boyerts and Malleys fund raising
- Need to add DJ Kish to CMA accounts
- Motion to approve report by Karen Gingrich, second by Stacey Kovach. Motion carried
Music Director Report:
- Band shed in its final position by the science wing; will be able to centralize many items that are scattered over various storage spaces.
- A thank you will be sent to Daniel Sommers and Brian Wittenberger at Hook-n-Haul for letting Daniel use his space to build the shed and loading/delivering to the school campus.
- Cloverleaf Band specific website –historical reference of past shows, George-n-Georges, band accomplishments
- Cavalcade planning meeting – much was accomplished – next meeting July 16 at 1800
- Planning and article in the Medina Gazette about the history of the Cloverleaf Band program and Cavalcade – what the 2019 show is about and what inspired it
Fundraisers:
- Seville Yard sale - $794.00
- Medina County fair – signups are in Charms
Old Business:
- Medina County Fair – Pepsi vendor, food purchases, vendor licenses are taken care of; will be taking care of tent permit this week
- Pay scale for instructors – proposal to increase hourly pay for hours worked during band camp week to $9.00/hour, consistent with their pay during the regular band season. Motion to accept by Stacey Kovach; second by Andrew Winter; motion carried
- MacDonald’s order for August 5- called in by Paula, to be picked up by Linda/Sue
- DCI – Ms. Lormeau and Mr. Randolph invited to attend DCI and sit in VIP seats
- Trivia Contest focusing on space program to celebrate 50th anniversary of moon landing and 2019 show. TO be held during band season with little prizes – kids can only win once. Mr. Winrod in charge of this activity
- Parent Mixer – before stadium preview – to be held outside cafeteria and cookies/beverages will be provided
- Combined field day/movie night – date selected August 17, Saturday at the Reeds.
New Business:
- Homecoming vs Norton competition – discussion surrounding the timing of both of these events on same evening; Mr. Winter is aware of conflict and options being explored based on band performance at Cavalcade.
- Smith family – CMA will donate $500.00 to family to assist in care of children
- Recommending another drum line instructor to work specifically with quads/snares; motion to accept by Andrew Winter, seconded by Stacey Kovach; motion carried
